dainton There's no point in me bemoaning one of all time favourite bands lack of new music when there's solo releases to be purchased.
This is more of a cool meandering stream on a summers day to dip your feet in than the raging torrent of FF still very pleasing to these old jaded ears though.

Favorite track: The March.

Shon Dempsey I've loved Forefather since I found them several years ago. How I missed Athelstan's solo project escapes me. This is a really fantastic pull-back from the 1/2 of Forefather (though we get some Wulfstan anyway on a few tracks). I've always loved the forefather instrumentals and this album delivers more. Well worth the asking price and more. A solid 4.7/5. Favorite track: The March.

Shining from the dark is the lord of the day Reaching out his hands to the black of the cave Showering the land with his glorious rays Lighting up the path, chasing spirits away So he must return, rising up from the sea Perfectly reborn as the father to be Now we are released from the fear and the cold Freedom is bestowed as the cycle unfolds But as we reach the heart of day the light will surely pass away to sink into the underworld and leave the land in dark decay Shepherds of the sun with the power to sway Builders of the fire with the spiritual rein Duelling with the earth for dominion of day Fallacy is preached with a penance to pay Order on the earth an ephemeral hold Harmony is breached and the cattle are sold Mastering the herd with the triumph of will psychopathic breed with a reason to kill And as the beasts of night betray the light must never fade away We win the power of the king As he descends into the grave

Man on the hill Speak free if you will Loose your memory and speak free unto me Show all that we should see Enlighten me to the truth in your mystery So I too can see Man on the Hill Hero on the Hill Carved through centuries stands silent, summoning me Tell of all you have seen Through winters many, in the white land between the seas Under veil of green Drawn to the hill Ancient, strong and still Vast and ominous, a fear rises in me You awaken a need This riddle in the green Has an answer residing in me My mind’s eye to see
